    Librarians are available to keep library technology running smoothly and to help students/faculty/staff with use of library equipment. Please note that we are unable to repair personal devices.  

    On personal devices, we can help with school-related items.  These include:

    • connecting to wifi
    • navigating Canvas and MyVPCC,
    • using MS Office and other programs
    • VPCC/school-related websites (Sam, Cengage, etc.)
    • other technology needs relating to student academic work at VPCC

    Copying or Scanning in the Library

    Copying is available for free at both campuses using the library printer. The cost of copying is subject to change. 

    Scanning is free. Documents can be e-mailed or saved to a USB, Google Drive, or Smartphone. 

    The libraries do not have a public fax machine.

    Technology in the Library for Students

    The Hampton and Historic Triangle Campus Libraries offer the following equipment for Students, Faculty, and Staff to borrow from the library.

    • Computer mouse
    • USB Webcam
    • Kindle (pre-loaded with a variety of popular books)
    • Camera and tripod
    • Video camera
    • Scientific calculator (Students only)
    • Graphing calculator (Students only)
    • Headphones
    • Headphones with microphone and USB connection
    • Ring light
    • Wi-fi hotspots (data caps apply)

    Students must complete the Media/Technology Equipment Agreement available at the circulation desk to borrow this equipment.  

     

    Campus WiFi

    Students and guests have three options to use Wi-Fi at VPCC:

    • myVCCS network – Sign in using your VCCS credentials (ex: ABC123) and password. Available to all VCCS students, faculty, and staff.
    • Eduroam – Sign in using your VCCS email (ex: ABC123@email.vccs.edu) and password. Available to all participating Eduroam institutions (great for summer students or for visitors from other Eduroam institutions). You can use Eduroam at other participating institutions as well.
    • Gator Guest network – Sign in by selecting your authentication method. Enter your name and email or phone number, accept the terms of service, then press “send access code” which will be sent to your email or phone. Enter the code and you can log into the network. Gator Guest is available to the public and does not require a VCCS login.
