Chicago Style - Notes/Bibliography System

Chicago style has two distinct documentation styles: the Notes and Bibliography system and the Author-Date system.

  • The Notes and Bibliography system is often used by those in literature, history, and the arts.
  • The Author-Date system is most often used by those in the physical, natural, and social sciences.
  • Be sure to know which your professor requires.
  • This guide provides information about solely the Notes and Bibliography system.
