Chronological resume
This type of resume lists your background in chronological order, starting with the most recent experience first and working backwards. This is the most common format for students and recent college graduates, and one that is preferred by employers
Functional resume
A functional resume focuses on your skills and experience, rather than on your chronological work history. It is used most often by people who are changing careers or who have gaps in their employment history.
Combination Resume
A combination resume lists your skills and experience first. Your employment history is listed next. With this type of resume you can highlight the skills you have that are relevant to the job you are applying for, and also provide the chronlogical work history that employers prefer
Federal Resume
A federal resume is longer than a traditional resume, and includes information not typically included in a standard resume.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
A resume generally does not include sections for publications, conferences or presentations, research grants, and fellowships. If you have accomplishments in these areas, you may wish to write a Curriculum Vitae.
